Skate.

Production:
Skate was created in 2007 and it was developed by EA Black Box. It was created for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. It was funded by EA (Electronic Arts). The software it used was a package called "Drives", created by Renderware. This was used to model the joints of the human body.

Marketing:
The game is aimed at teenagers interested in skateboarding. It was announced on the 19th of september 2006 on the EA website as the "most realistic skateboarding game". The game released a number of trailers showing gameplay. The game demo was released on xbox live marketplace on August 21st 2007, and was released for the playstation in september. Up untill its release there were several reviews of the product saying "its better than tony hawks" and "best sports game". On the 15th of august they released a list of Xbox acheivments you could get in the game. On the 16th they released a skate theme for the Xbox.

Distribution:
The game was released in store on xbox on the 28th of september, and october 5th on PS3. It was released as an old distribution model, as it was sold through stores.

Consumption:
The game scored very well with reviewers getting 9/10 from IGN. They said it was to the environment, the soundtrack and the new control scheme. The control scheme was the latest thing, as it was completely different to old skating games. In it's first month it sold 175,000 units for the xbox. The game is now available to download off of the xbox live marketplace. You can also purchase a picture package.
